Konstantin Grcic was born in Germany, in 1965.

As a child Konstantin loved building and during his high school years refurbished furniture.

He studied cabinet making at the John Makepeace School (Dorset, England) and then studied design at the Royal College of Art in London. Other notable alumni include Thomas Heatherwick, Sir James Dyson and Sir Edwin Lutyens.

In 1991, he established a design firm, Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design, in Munich. The studio develops furniture, homeware, lighting, fashion and a variety of other products for leading international brands.

Many of his products have received international design awards such as the prestigious Compasso d’Oro for his Mayday lamp in 2001, the Myto chair in 2011 and the OK lamp in 2016. He won two “Designpreis Deutschland” prizes from the Government of Germany, for his Chair_ONE and Miura stool in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

In 2010, Grcic was named “Designer of the Year” at Design Miami.

Grcic’s works are included in a number of permanent collections of modern art and design museums the world over.
